Grouped by Play Area and Equipment Type:

We have taken care to organise our products into groups that relate to areas of play and interest. Both the NZ Playcentre Federation and the Ministry of Education encourage centres to consider each area of play and provide equipment specific to that area. Our suggestions for the basic equipment recommended for playcentres are also available on this website.

We have chosen to use the types of equipment described in the 'Equipment for Playcentres' publication as a basis for the groupings and sub-groupings. This is a great resource book and discusses equipment that will enable and encourage wonderful play and natural learning in each area of play. We suggest that you get a copy of 'Equipment for Playcentres' to support you in providing a great environment, whether it is at home or in a centre.

Searching the Product List:

To view the products that we have on offer, simply click on a Product group heading at the left of the screen and then select from the list of sub-groupings.

Alternatively, you can use the Quick Find search box at the top left of the screen to search for a particular word in our product range e.g. fairy, to display all of our fairy items. You might need to try a few different words before you find a match with the words we have used in our product names. Here are some hints for entering keywords into the Quick Find box...

• Enter a single word to search for everything we have to do with, say, fairies... enter fairy.
  
• Enter two words to search for products that have both words in their product name e.g. ruler metal would find the Long Metal Ruler for carpentry.
  
• Exact matches can be searched for by enclosing keywords in double-quotes.
  For example, "tempera blue" would find Tempera Blue paint, but not Tempera Light Blue paint.
  
• Keywords may be separated by AND or OR statements for greater control of the search results.
  For example, tempera AND blue would find all products with both words in the product name. However, a search for tempera OR blue, would find products that contain either word.
  
• Brackets can be used for further control on the result set.
  For example, tempera and (blue or purple or "light blue").
  
• The Product Code can also be entered as a keyword e.g. CARULL would find the Long Metal Ruler.

Product Information:

When the search by Quick Find or Product Grouping is successful, the summary information about each product matched will be displayed. Click on the product name to view all the info that we hold for the product. Note that the product grouping for the product will be displayed in the green breadcrumb line beneath our logo. You might find it useful to then view that product grouping to view other similar products.

We will gradually be adding descriptions for some of our products and photos for all of them.
