Shipping Methods: Orders can be picked up from the shop, or we can deliver to you and will charge shipping. We normally use Fastway for courier of items that can be packed into standard sized boxes (up to 25 kgs and less than .150m2). For bulky items (e.g. a carpentry bench) a freight forwarding company will need to be used. We have found that customers usually prefer to organise freight haulage themselves as they are aware of who their local freight companies are and can often obtain better pricing than that quoted by a Christchurch-based company. Also, customers usually like to be involved in the scheduling of the actual delivery and organising of insurance cover. However, we are happy to organise the delivery of bulky items for you.
Shipping Charges: We calculate the shipping charges based on the total of your shopping cart and display the charge when you proceed to the checkout. We offer different flat rates per box (estimated at $60 worth of product) for various parts of the country. Orders delivered by courier - within the Greater Christchurch area... $3.35 per $60 with a maximum of $10.05.
- to the rest of Canterbury... $6.70 per $60 with a maximum of $20.10.
- to the rest of the South Island... $9.00 per $60 with a maximum of $27.00.
- to the North Island... $16.00 per $60 with a maximum of $48.00.
Bulky items (e.g. carpentry bench) will involve a freight cost... - within the Greater Christchurch area... $20.00 per item.
- to the rest of Canterbury... $40.00 per item.
- to the rest of the South Island... $50.00 per item.
- to the North Island... will be advised upon receipt of your order.
We reserve the right to check the freight costs and will advise you by email if there is any significant change, and will provide you with the opportunity to accept or decline the revised shipping charges. Insurance is normally provided on the goods while they are in transit to you. Refunds & Returns: If you are not satisfied with your purchase, due to faulty workmanship or damage, you must advise us within 7 days and request authorisation to return the product to us. Once you have obtained authorisation from us to return the item, it must be returned to us within 14 days in good condition and in the original display packaging. Items being returned remain the responsibility of the customer until they reach us, and we cannot be held responsible for goods lost or damaged in transit to us. We will either replace, exchange, or give you a refund for the cost of the product, but are not able to cover shipping or packaging charges. Replacements will be subject to stock availability. Should you discover that a product does not meet your expectations or you bought the wrong item, please call us to discuss – we may be able to authorise a replacement.
Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 - The only warranty offered by The Playcentre Shop is a manufacturer’s warranty accompanying the goods should one exist. You should keep your invoice as proof of purchase in case you wish to make a claim in the future.
- In any event, The Playcentre Shop’s liability under any claim shall not exceed the price of the goods.
- If the goods have been acquired for business purposes, the terms of the Consumer Guarantees Act do not apply.
- Nothing in our terms is intended to have the effect of contracting out of the provisions of the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 except to the extent permitted by that Act, and we have modified our terms to reflect our position.
