Centre Support Team
The Centre Support Team consists of a co-ordinator and up to eight team members. Each team member is allocated specific centres and can provide up to 40 hours support per centre each year. Each term has a focus.
The Centre Support Team is responsible for ensuring that centres meet minimum standards for licensing. This includes approval of each centre’s Plan for Supervision Approval as per the Supervision Approval Policy, and also the implementation of Canterbury Playcentre Assn Policies, Early Childhood Regulations, Desirable Objectives and Practices (1998) and Te Wháriki.
The Team provides support in all areas:
- Conducting an annual Equipment Check
- Advice on and approval of Playground and equipment plans
- Parent Education Programme
- Centre Inclusion Programmes
- Formal documented planning cycle
- Conducting interviews for supervisors / co-ordinators
- Staff appraisal and Professional development plans
- Office bearer training for Education, Equipment, Librarian and Information Officers
- All administration requirements
- Finance, including Bulk funding and Budgets
- Statistics
- Health and Safety requirements including safety checks and cleaning procedures
- Property and Maintenance checks
- Fire and emergency evacuation procedures
- Review of policies and practices
- Relevant Early Childhood Regulations
- Office bearer training for Presidents, Secretaries, Treasurers,
- Property/Maintenance and Health and Safety
The Association Treasurer and Association Property Administrator work with the Centre Support Team to provide support to the centres.
