Curriculum/Supervision Support Team
The CSST consists of a co-ordinator and up to five team members. Each team member is allocated specific centres and can provide up to 20 hours support per centre each year. Each term has a focus.
The Curriculum/Supervision Support Team is responsible for ensuring that centres meet minimum standards for licensing. This includes approval of each centre’s Plan for Supervision Approval as per the Supervision Approval Policy, and also the implementation of Canterbury Playcentre Assn Policies, Early Childhood Regulations, Desirable Objectives and Practices (1998) and Te Wháriki.
The CSST provides support in the following areas:
- Conducting an annual Equipment Check
- Advice on and approval of Playground and equipment plans
- Parent Education Programme
- Centre Inclusion Programmes
- Formal documented planning cycle
- Conducting interviews for supervisors / co-ordinators
- Staff appraisal and Professional development plans
- Office bearer training for Education, Equipment, Librarian and Information Officers
